Melanotan II is a cyclic lactam analogue of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone that activates several melanocortin receptors (MC1R, MC3R, MC4R).
Research context
It is used in research on melanogenesis, melanocortin receptor pharmacology and related signalling. Health Canada has not authorized it for any human use.
