Description
5-Amino-1MQ (5-amino-1-methylquinolinium) is a small, membrane-permeable molecule, not a peptide. It is known in the literature as an inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT).
Research context
NNMT sits at the junction of NAD⁺ salvage and methyl-donor metabolism, so 5-Amino-1MQ is used in cell and animal models looking at adipocyte metabolism and NAD⁺ balance.
